Sponsor a child
Many children in Uganda live in poverty. If no one does anything, these children will have no future. As a sponsor parent, you can help. You can make a difference in a child's life.
Your monthly contribution enables a child to attend school and receive all the care they need. The children attend our primary school, secondary school and vocational school in Namugongo. During the school term, they live on campus. They receive good meals every day and all the care they need. It is a close-knit community where friends are made and people look out for each other. What makes sponsorship through Kinderhulp Afrika unique is that after secondary school, all children continue their education for two to three years, either in vocational training or at university. With this diploma, they can look for work and take their place in society. That is what we call going from disadvantaged to promising!
You can sponsor a child for € 75 or € 37.50 per month. In the latter case, we will look for another sponsor parent. As a sponsor parent, you are personally involved. You will receive letters, drawings and reports. You can also send a letter to your sponsored child yourself. It means so much to them!

Your Sponsorship Makes a Difference!
With your support, we provide:
Quality Education
Your sponsored child attends our primary, secondary, and vocational schools in Namugongo. Alongside academics, they specialize in a trade for three years, such as carpentry, building, tailoring, electrical engineering, catering & hotel management, photography & videography, or hairdressing & cosmetology. After secondary school, sponsorship continues with two to three more years of vocational training or university.
Nutritious Meals
Your child receives three healthy meals every day.
Clothing
All children receive school uniforms and sportswear, funded through sponsorship.
Medical and Emotional Care
Your child has access to medical care at our on-campus clinic. Many carry trauma from their background, so professional counseling is provided where needed. Spiritual care is also part of their growth, with Biblical values guiding them.
Safe Environment
During school terms, children live on campus in a safe and caring community. In holidays, they return to their guardians or extended family, keeping their cultural and family ties.
Talent Development
Every child is coached to discover and develop their gifts—whether in sports, music, leadership, or career choices.
Pathway to Work
The ultimate goal is for children to find employment after graduation, so they can support themselves and their families. Sponsorship empowers them for life.
For sponsor parents
Becoming a sponsor parent is truly special! Here’s what you can expect:
- Two letters each year from your sponsored child.
- You can write letters whenever you wish. Communication is supported by our sponsorship staff in Uganda and the Netherlands. Often, your child will write back with a message or photo.
- Updates, photos, and reports about your child’s progress. If anything significant happens, you’ll be informed right away.
- Our regular newsletter, keeping you connected with campus life in Uganda.

Impact sponsoring
Sponsoring a child changes everything. It gives a child a future! Take Richard, for example. He came to us at seven years old after losing both parents. With no family to care for him, sponsor parents stepped in. Richard attended primary and secondary school and later studied film and video. Today, he works as a filmmaker.
