Meet the team

Get to know the people behind Kinderhulp Afrika, our office staff, board, and Ugandan team share their motivation for helping children in Uganda.

Operational Director Uganda

Eric Sempa

Eric Sempa is the operations director and pastor in Uganda. Together with a wonderful team, he is committed to helping the children on campus. He is deeply involved with the children. “Many orphans have suffered trauma. We want to help them by giving them attention and guiding them through the healing process. We want to listen to them and give them the care and love they need. We pray with the children and talk about the problems they are facing. It is so wonderful to see the children grow into adults. When they come to us, they have often been through many difficult experiences. Without any hope of education. Little by little, you see them change into the people God intended them to be. Children who had no hope have regained hope."

Board Kinderhulp Afrika

The board of Kinderhulp Afrika consists of six people. They are extremely motivated to help children in Uganda. Xander Rijken, chairman, says:
"What touches me most deeply are the heartbreaking situations of children in Uganda who lose their parents at a very young age and are left entirely on their own. That is not living, but merely surviving. This is precisely why it is so special that we are able to give these children hope, through education and vocational training that can change their future. For me, that is the journey from hopless to hopeful, and I am fully committed to it with all my heart."
