What we do in Uganda
Education for vulnerable children
Kinderhulp Afrika supports vulnerable children in Uganda, together with our implementing partner Children’s Welfare Mission (CWM). Our hearts go out to children who are orphans or who come from poor families. Without help, they have no future in Uganda. We believe that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. A diploma enables young people to find work and eventually take care of themselves and their families.
Primary school, secondary school, and vocational school
In Namugongo, near the capital Kampala, we run a primary school, secondary school, and vocational school. The day-to-day leadership is in Ugandan hands. More than 1,000 children receive an education here. During school terms, the children live on campus and receive nutritious meals every day. There is also a clinic on campus, which serves both the children and the local community.
A future for a child
Orphans and children from very poor families in Uganda are often left without hope, struggling to survive and unable to attend school. For these children, we look for sponsor parents who cover their school fees and living expenses. This gives them the chance to attend school and build a future! Alongside sponsored children, local children from the community also attend the school.

Ugandan staff
Around 100 Ugandan staff members dedicate themselves to the children on campus—teachers, cooks, social workers, and maintenance staff. What stands out most is their passion for the children and their work. Some were once orphans themselves, received education at our school, and are now teachers here. The love they once received is now passed on to the next generation.

Taking their place in society
Since the foundation began, hundreds of children have graduated. Children who once had no future were given the chance to study, develop their talents, and now hold jobs. They provide for themselves and their families, and take their place in society to make a difference there.
That is moving from vulnerable to empowered!
That is from Hopeless to hopeful!

Primary school, secondary school, and vocational school
The school is a place where 1,000 children receive high-quality education. In addition, they not only learn theory but also a trade. The school is a place where lives are changed.

Jjanda Medical Centre
The clinic is open 24/7 for emergency care and deliveries. In addition, a doctor and a dentist hold daily consultations. The clinic is vital for the children, staff, and people from the wider community.

Our Impact
Children who were disadvantaged were given the opportunity to go to school. This has changed their lives. With a diploma in hand, they found a job and are now taking their place in society.
