Our Organisation

Our organisation

Our Organisation
Kinderhulp Afrika works to empower vulnerable children in Uganda in partnership with CWM, the operational organization in Uganda.

Supporting Vulnerable Children
At Namugongo, children have access to education and care through our primary, secondary, and vocational schools. Many students are orphans or come from underprivileged families, yet the school also welcomes children from nearby communities.

Ugandan Staff
The schools are fully run by Ugandans. Operational Director and pastor Eric Sempa, along with his team, leads daily operations with great dedication. Over 100 staff members support the children, from teachers and cooks to social workers and maintenance staff. Our goal is for CWM to be as self-sufficient as possible, covering most operational costs locally.

Child Sponsorship and Fundraising

Over 250 children are sponsored by Dutch families who provide school fees for those without parents or relatives to support them. Kinderhulp Afrika manages these sponsorships and also raises funds for major projects such as expanding classrooms or launching new vocational courses. Funding comes from donors, entrepreneurs, churches, and foundations.

Staff and Volunteers

Staff
Kinderhulp Afrika employs two part-time staff members: 0.5 FTE for sponsor administration and financial administration, and 0.6 FTE for communication and fundraising.

Volunteers
Volunteers throughout the country are committed to Kinderhulp Afrika. For example, by organising sponsorship campaigns or helping out at a stand. Volunteers also regularly travel to Uganda to help out on campus or in the clinic. We request a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) for all volunteers who work with children. We also have a Child Care Policy that all volunteers sign together with a volunteer contract.
