Gift
Gift is 14 years old and comes from a large family. She is the eighth child. During her early years, Gift lived with her parents. When she reached school age, she was taken to live with an older brother. Her parents could no longer provide for her, as they are elderly and struggle financially. Her mother is a peasant, while her father does not take responsibility for the family and is often drunk.
Her brother cared for Gift until she reached Primary 3. After that, he brought her back to her parents.
For one whole year, Gift was unable to attend school. Afterwards, she could only go from time to time because there was never enough money. Now, Gift is once again forced to stay at home because her parents cannot pay the school fees.
How deeply she longs to return to school. It breaks her heart to watch her classmates go each day while she must remain behind.
We would love to help Gift and give her the chance to continue her education. We are looking for a sponsor parent who would be willing to support her, so that she can go back to school and build a brighter future.
