Group Travel from 13-22 October 2022

We have a great trip planned for this fall. A journey where you will discover why Uganda is also called 'the Pearl of Africa'. You will visit our project, get to know the lovely children, meet your sponsor child (if you have one) and experience a fantastic safari with chimpanzee tracking! In short, a trip you will never forget!

Travel programme

Day 1 We leave on Thursday. This first day is all about travelling. Today we depart by plane from Schiphol to Entebbe.

Day 2 Friday. Arrival at Entebbe airport. We transfer, by bus, to the hotel in Namugongo, lunch in the garden of the hotel, and take time to freshen up and to settle in the hotel. During the second part of the afternoon we leave for the project, where you will meet the children and where we will enjoy a lovely evening meal.

Day 3 Saturday. Today we will show you round the project in Namugongo. In the afternoon we visit the beautiful waterfall Ssezibwa Falls.

Day 4 Sunday. On this Sunday morning we will take part in the church service at the project. If you are a sponsor parent you may like to spend the afternoon with your sponsor child; you could visit the local market or the craft market in Kampala with them, where you can buy nice souvenirs and local products.

Chimpansee

Day 5 Monday. An early start for the safari in the Kibale Forest National Park, one of the most beautiful and most attractive rain forests of Uganda. We will have lunch in the charming village Fort Portal and we will travel on to our lodge in Kibale Forest National Park, where we will have dinner.

Day 6 Tuesday. After an early breakfast we depart for a walking safari in the national park, renowned for the large groups of chimpanzees; this gives you a great opportunity to admire these animals in their natural habitat. After lunch we will visit a local community and will take a swamp walk.

Day 7 Wednesday. Today we leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park. On the way we will visit the Crater Lakes and will have a picknick on the Equator. Upon arrival in the National Park we will take a short safari on the way to the starting point of a two hour boat safari on the Kazinga Channel. After the boat trip we will depart on a safari to our lodge, where we will have dinner and will stay overnight.

Day 8 Thursday. Another early start for a game drive safari. Early mornings are the best times to see the animals in action. We hope to spot some wonderful wild animals. After this trip we will drive back to Namugongo, where we expect to arrive around 20.00 hrs.

Day 9 Friday. One last day in Namugongo. In the morning we visit the Martyrs Shrine, which provides insight into a piece of the history of the country. An impressive visit. In the afternoon we go to the project for the last time, where we will say goodbye to the children. In the evening the children will organize a beautiful African party for us, after which we leave for the airport.

Day 10 Saturday. In the afternoon we land at Schiphol again. You can look back on an unforgettable journey! The children of Uganda and Uganda itself will forever hold a special place in your heart.
