Unique trip from 15 – 25 October 2020

We are organizing a unique trip to the beautiful Uganda, the pearl of Africa from 15 – 25 October 2020.

This fantastic trip offers the opportunity to meet the children at our project and also to undertake a great safari to the chimpanzees in their natural habitat. This will be an unforgettable trip!

Travel programme

Day 1 Thursday 15 Oct. This first day is a travel day. Today we leave for Entebbe by plane.


Day 2 Friday 16 Oct.Arrival at Entebbe airport. We transfer, by bus,  to the hotel in Namugongo, lunch in the garden of the hotel, and take time to freshen up and to settle in the hotel. During the second part of the afternoon we leave for the project, where you will meet the children and where we will enjoy a lovely evening meal.

 Day 3 Saturday 17 Oct. Today we will show you round the project in Namugongo. In the afternoon we visit the beautiful waterfall Ssezibwa Falls and the Martyrs Shrine, which gives you some insight in the history of the country. An impressive visit.

Day 4 Sunday 18 Oct. On this Sunday morning we will take part in the church service at the project. If you are a sponsor parent you may like to spend the afternoon with your sponsor child; you could visit the local market or Kampala with them.


Day 5 Monday 19 Oct. An early start for the safari in the Kibale Forest National Park, one of the most beautiful and most attractive rain forests of Uganda. We will have lunch in the charming village Fort Portal and we will travel on to our lodge in Kibale Forest National Park, where we will have dinner.

Day 6 Tuesday 20 Oct.After an early breakfast we depart for a walking safari in the national park, renowned for the large groups of chimpanzees; this gives you a great opportunity to admire these animals in their natural habitat. After lunch we will visit a local community and will take a swamp walk.

Day 7 Wednesday 21 Oct. Today we leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park. On the way we will visit the Crater Lakes and will have a picknick on the Equator. Upon arrival in the National Park we will take a short safari on the way to the starting point of a two hour boat safari on the Kazinga Channel. After the boat trip we will depart on a safari to our lodge, where we will have dinner and will stay overnight.

Day 8 Thursday 22 Oct. Another early start for a game drive safari. Early mornings are the best times to see the animals in action. We hope to spot some wonderful wild animals. After this trip we will drive back to Namugongo, where we expect to arrive around 20.00 hrs.

Day 9 Friday 23 Oct.In the morning we will visit the craft market in Kampala to do some shopping and or visit some interesting spots in the surroundings. In the afternoon we will pay a last visit to the project, where we will take leave of the children, who will organize a great African party for us.

Day 10 Saturday 24 Oct. At around 10.00 hrs we will leave the hotel and will visit the beautiful Entebbe Wildlife Center on our way to Entebbe, where we will stay one more night. In the hotel you can do some relaxing and swimming by the pool before dinner. From there we will leave for the airport and our trip back to the Netherlands.

Day 11 Sunday 25 Oct. Arriving back at Schiphol, you can look back at an unforgettable trip. From now on the children in Uganda and Uganda itself will have a special place in your heart.

The cost of the trip amounts to 1990,- euros per person, based on a double room. This price includes a return flight from Amsterdam to Entebbe, transfer from the airport to the hotel v.v. in Uganda, transport during the trip, meals, nights at the hotels, visit and entrance to the National parks plus stays in the lodges, chimpanzee tracking and other entrance fees.

Not included in this price are: Visa ($ 50,-), vaccination costs, travel insurance and cancellation insurance (compulsory), preventive malaria medication, all drinks taken in the hotels, except the collectively bought drinking water, transport cost to and from Schiphol, other costs like passport, extra drinks, snacks, phone costs.  A single room is surcharged.

Attention: Children under the age of 13 years old are not admitted at the chimpanzee tour.
